EXCITING PLACES TO SEE
California dreamin’. It’s what most people do when they think of the west coast. Sunglasses on, windows rolled down, and an ocean breeze blowing through your hair.
There are so many things that California has to offer it’s difficult to know where to begin. For those of us interested in the big-city life, Hollywood, Beverly Hills and hip coastal towns like San Diego, Santa Barbara, Newport Beach, and Malibu come calling.
For others whose hearts belong in nature, the nine national parks and 19 national monuments beckon.
The beautiful and remote Channel Islands off the coast of California are an incredible escape from the busyness of life on shore. Although they aren’t the most accessible, they are worth the extra effort.
Death Valley National Park and Joshua Tree National Park are desert parks and some of the most unusual in all the Southwest, while Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Park offer a wide variety of backcountry abundant with waterfalls, rivers, trails and forests. It also has one of the best caves in California and two of the largest trees in the entire world.
And of course, no California adventure would be complete without visiting Redwoods National Park and Yosemite National Park where you’ll find massive redwoods and epic mountain cliffs.
Beach bums and adventure seekers alike will find plenty of ways to enjoy themselves in California.
